It is possible to modify the buffer+ to increase the input impedance, but in order to do so you'll have to remove the input loading trim pot so you'll lose the functionality of the pot. You can boost the input impedance to 10 mega ohms just by clipping the lead to the pot that's closest to the "guitar in" jack. Just cut that lead so that's it's no longer making contact.
