Where should the trem go in the signal chain?
I'd put it right after the distortion, but experiment with it in different locations. It can create some interesting effects.

What can I use to power the Trem?
The Tremolo can take 9VDC to 15VDC with a negative tip/center connector. Any 9v DC, negative tip power adaptor will work. We recommend the Boss PSA-120.

How is the Tremolo's audio signal path analog, but controlled digitally?
A magical part called the vactrol allows the analog circuitry to be controlled digitally by a microprocessor. Best of both worlds!

What is the headroom of the original Tremolo?
The original trem can handle a 6Vpp sinewave, which is 2.12Vrms, which is 8.7dBu or 6.5dBV, so it can definitely handle line level.
